This group is for Santa Barbara area residents and visitors who are interested in socially progressive politics nationally and locally. This is a way to meet people who are already active in progressive organizations and to coordinate our grassroots efforts.
We were meeting monthly in Santa Barbara but so many new groups have formed around worthwhile issues that it seemed we should use this site and mailing list to keep people informed of all the opportunities to get involved.
Meetings of the Progressive Coalition have been cancelled for the foreseeable future. Please spread the word, but Progressive Democrats of Santa Barbara have instituted "Dem Night" at Democratic Headquarters, 402 E. Gutierrez Street in Santa Barbara on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7pm. Four groups rotate responsibility for a program and refreshments: Progressive Dems, Democratic Service Club, Dem Women and the county's Democratic Central Committee. Please join us!
